The Ajanta and Ellora Caves, located in Maharashtra, India, are among the greatest examples of ancient rock-cut architecture and Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain heritage. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites showcase exquisite paintings, sculptures, and monolithic temples carved directly into the rock, making them an architectural and artistic wonder.

Ajanta Caves are renowned for their Buddhist frescoes and murals, while Ellora Caves are famous for their diverse temples, including the magnificent Kailasa Temple, the world’s largest monolithic rock excavation.

Day 01 :

Mumbai – Arrival

Upon arrival in Mumbai, our representative will assist with your hotel transfer. After checking in and refreshing, embark on a city tour covering:

Highlights: Gateway of India, Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, Juhu Beach, Prince of Wales Museum

Day 02 :

Mumbai – Ajanta Caves – Aurangabad

On the second day of your tour, you’ll be taken to Ajanta Ellora Caves from Mumbai. Once you have breakfast, take a flight from Mumbai to Aurangabad. On reaching Aurangabad, check in to the hotel. Later, drive towards the star attraction of the city, Ajanta Caves. After sightseeing around the place, go back to the hotel for dinner. Finally, have a comfortable overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 03 :

Aurangabad – Ellora caves (1 hour/ 32 km)

After having your breakfast, leave for a sightseeing tour. First, visit the famous Ellora Caves followed by a visit to Daulatabad Fort. Ellora Caves is one attraction that represents the spectacular artistry behind its exquisite carving and paintings. The caves also reflect the religious harmony that was there during the 5th to 11th centuries in India. Also, visit the Daulatabad Fort, which the Yadavas built. Initially, the fort acted as a southern military base. After a glimpse of the country’s glorious past, leave for the hotel. Stay overnight.

Day 04 :

Aurangabad – Nasik

Munch your breakfast and then leave for Nasik. On reaching, check in to the hotel and take some rest. Later, go for a short sightseeing tour around Nasik. You can begin by seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva with a visit to Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, a famous pilgrimage site in Nasik. Later, you can visit the Pandava Caves, which housed a group of 24 Buddhist caves and were excavated in 1 CE. Finally, spend the evening at leisure. Later, have your dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 :

Nasik – Mumbai

After having your breakfast, leave Nasik and head towards Mumbai. On reaching Mumbai, take a transfer to the railway station/airport and carry on with your onward journey. The tour ends here.
